Who is it for?
Any one over the age of 12 years old (with parental consent). You should be a comfortable swimmer and in good health. The SSI mermaid or basic freediver course is a prerequisite to join the model program, mermaid if you want to use a tail, or ocean mermaid if we are outside.
Outline
Do you want amazing photos or videos of yourself being a mermaid or model? Are you ready to wow your family and friends? Are you developing a portfolio to become a professional underwater model?
This is the best model course to learn the skills and concepts you need to successfully interact with a photographer or videographer as an underwater model. In this program it teaches real skills, from breath control to environmental awareness, safety planning, helping students master body positioning, choreography, and performance techniques that make underwater movement feel natural and seamless.
The underwater model course separates to just modelling or modelling and dancing. You can take the course with or without the professional photoshoot.
You will have the opportunity to take a photo session with world famous freediving photographer Daan Verhoeven either in the pool or open water. You will receive 3-5 photographs (electronic not print) from the shoot, that are yours to keep for non commercial use.
You will receive a certification from SSI.
Location
In the classroom, pool or sea at Porthkerris Dive Centre.
Days start at 9.00 am and you will be finished by around 4 pm. Please note that ocean diving is weather dependant- if conditions are dangerous to get in we will only work in the pool.
Class Size
Minimum 2 people, maximum 4 people per instructor in open water.
Minimum Age
12 years old. Prerequisite medical and liability release forms.
