Who is it for?
This workshop is for qualified freedivers SSI pool or equivalent who want to try-out a Monofin or improve their Monofin diving techniques. For the mono fin freediver open water rating, an SSI level 1 is a prerequisite.
We ask that you complete your level 1 prior to booking the sea day, as you really need to have good equalisation skills.
Outline
The SSI mono fin specialty course starts with a theory and stretching session, and then progress to the pool. Once the mono fin pool part is complete, you have the option to add 2 dives in open water to gain the pool and depth mono fin specialty certification.
Duration
For the mono fin pool specialty, it is run in 4-6 hours, classroom, stretching and pool session, after, you would receive a mono fin pool specialty recognition form SSI.
If you want to add the 2 dives in open water, add a second day, if you have a level 1 cert or higher.
Location
We will start at Porthkerris Divers for theory and stretching then move on to the pool afterwards. Open water diving is from shore at Porthkerris, max 20m.

Price and Booking
The course cost for monofin pool diver is £240 to cover all equipment rental, (all of our equipment is freedive specific and in good condition), pool entry costs and certification, plus the e-learning materials that i can send you before the course starts. If you can read through them before you come down it gives us some more time in the water. We ask for a 50% deposit to issue you with your training materials. This deposit is non returnable or transferable. The full course cost should be paid before the start day by bank transfer. (We do not take cards). It is an extra £130 for the monofin sea rating on the second day.
